I dunno, in an RPG sense my ranger was fine with just her one companion, trekking across the lands
On a side note: I honestly think you should be able to just see the damage your pet is doing. In PvP the other night a wolf was beating one me for 20-40 a hit, but I didn't think to ask the ranger how much beast mastery he had.

Yes, many of the skills apply to you pets.
If we're never going to have more than one then they should fix the text.

I personally think they should make every type of monster tameable except bosses or uniques. They would have to depend on you lvl of beast mastery on whether or not you could tame them though. I think it would be awsome to have a drake or a jungle troll fighting with you not against you.

There is a possibility in the future to charm more them one animal for a mission or in an area but when you go to the next area you maintain your original pet.
Charm animal on multi animals in the past resulted in the last animal charmed becoming your new primary pet. so thats why it has not been implamented.
They played with the multi pet concept during beta for a short time. I saw a Screen Shot of one ranger with all 11 charmable animals at one point, but it has since been removed.

They should make it so that you dont' need to keep the charm animal skill in your skill bar to have your pet around, there should just be a toggle switch. They should also make it so that pets can be ressed with any res spell.

I would love to have two pets, then I wouldn't have to choose between the stalker and the lynx.

for me its my lev 18 Dune Lizard or the lev 20 Black Widow Spider... I like both, but the dune lizard has better armor class, but the Spider attacks faster. I would like to try out the bear too, but I dont want to have to level up ANOTHER pet to 20. I already did it twice... First my Wolf (From Presearing that I kept till assension), then the lynx then the dune lizard. I feel like I have resigned myself that the only pet I'm gonna trade this one for is the lev 20 spider in the underworld... cause the dune lizard is really cool... and has proven worlds better in recent patches then my wolf was. But I didn't use the wolf after they fixed the pet skills... So prob all the pets work a little better now...
One thing I would like to see for pets that is sorely lacking is a way to tell how far from a level increase they are. aka the ctrl click method on your stats in teams.

I think this would really unbalance the skill though. If 'anything' I could stand for an 'any' Rez. But I think the one spot taken for a charmed pet is perfectly fair considering you're not only getting another attacker, but another tank as well. You've got to give something for a pet, and it happens to be a skill slot in this case. Perhaps..if the Charm Skill WAS the Rez? Might solve both problems at once.

agreed the charm animal is the cost of having the extra party member...
